Overview

Start your 12-day Annapurna Circuit Trek adventure, starting from Kathmandu, with scenic drives to Bhulbhule and Chame, trekking through Pisang, Manang, Yak Kharka, Thorung Phedi, and Muktinath. Experience high-altitude trekking, the stunning Thorung La Pass, cultural encounters, and beautiful landscapes. Complete your journey with a visit to Pokhara, a Kathmandu cultural dinner, and memories that will last a lifetime.

The Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the most popular and adventurous trekking routes in Nepal, offering trekkers a chance to experience diverse landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and breathtaking mountain views. This 12-day trek begins with a scenic drive through beautiful rural landscapes to reach the foothills of the Annapurna region. Along the way, you pass through small towns and villages surrounded by lush green hills, terraced fields, and rivers, providing a glimpse of traditional Nepalese life.

As the trek progresses, the scenery gradually shifts from subtropical forests to alpine landscapes, with snow-capped peaks rising majestically in the distance. The trail meanders through picturesque villages, home to diverse ethnic groups such as the Gurung, Thakali, and Manangis, who warmly welcome trekkers with their unique traditions and hospitality. Along the way, trekkers can explore ancient monasteries, visit traditional homes, and witness local religious and cultural practices that have been passed down through generations.

One of the highlights of the trek is reaching the stunning town of Manang. This high-altitude village is a significant stop for trekkers, offering breathtaking views of Annapurna and Gangapurna peaks. It’s also an ideal location for acclimatization, allowing trekkers to adjust to the increasing altitude while exploring the surrounding areas. This adjustment is crucial for preventing altitude sickness and ensuring a successful and safe journey.

The trek then continues towards the higher altitudes, passing through Yak Kharka and Thorung Phedi, where the landscape becomes more barren and rugged, with steep mountain cliffs and snowy ridgelines. Trekkers often encounter grazing yaks and horses along the way, adding to the charm of the remote mountain terrain. As the altitude increases, the air becomes thinner, and the cold bites harder, making proper preparation and pacing vital for a safe ascent.

One of the most challenging yet exhilarating parts of the trek is crossing the famous Thorung La Pass, one of the highest trekking passes in the world at over 5,400 meters. The ascent is demanding, but the views from the top are unforgettable, with panoramic vistas of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu ranges. This pass is a significant achievement for trekkers, and reaching the top offers a sense of accomplishment and awe as you stand among the giants of the Himalayas.

Descending from Thorung La, the trek leads to the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath, a place of religious importance for both Hindus and Buddhists. Muktinath is known for its eternal flame and 108 water spouts, where pilgrims come to bathe and cleanse themselves. The spiritual atmosphere of the temple, combined with the stunning mountain backdrop, creates a unique experience that blends nature with spirituality.

After visiting Muktinath, the trek heads towards the scenic town of Jomsom, located in the Kali Gandaki River Valley. The landscape changes again, with arid, wind-swept plains and towering cliffs on either side. Jomsom is a gateway to the Mustang region and offers trekkers a chance to relax and enjoy the hospitality of the local Thakali people. This area is also famous for its apple orchards and local products like apple brandy, which trekkers can sample during their stay.

As the trek concludes, trekkers travel back towards the peaceful lakeside city of Pokhara, where they can unwind and reflect on their incredible journey. Pokhara is a popular destination for its serene lakes, vibrant markets, and stunning mountain views, providing a perfect ending to the Annapurna Circuit Trek. The city’s laid-back atmosphere is ideal for relaxation, whether it’s enjoying a boat ride on Phewa Lake, exploring caves and waterfalls, or simply admiring the reflection of the Annapurna range on the water.

The Annapurna Circuit Trek is more than just a physical challenge; it is a journey through Nepal’s natural beauty, diverse cultures, and spiritual traditions. Trekkers not only conquer mountains but also connect with local communities and experience the unique blend of culture and nature that defines the Himalayas. This trek offers memories that last a lifetime, from the peaceful villages and bustling towns to the thrilling mountain ascents and serene valleys. Whether it's the stunning views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri or the warm smiles of the locals, the Annapurna Circuit Trek is a transformative experience for adventurers seeking both challenge and beauty.

CLIMATE & BEST TIME TO GO

The best time to trek the Annapurna Circuit is in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). Spring offers blooming rhododendrons, pleasant temperatures, and clear skies, while autumn provides stable weather and stunning mountain views. Winter (December to February) is quieter but very cold, with snow possibly blocking Thorong La Pass. Monsoon (June to August) brings heavy rains, slippery trails, and obscured views but lush green landscapes. For ideal conditions, aim for late March to May or mid-September to early December.

In case of a serious sickness or a casualty, which we hope will not happen; you shall be rescued by a helicopter.
