This itinerary allows travelers to experience Nepal’s rich cultural heritage, scenic beauty, and unique wildlife in just six days. With well-planned flights between destinations, this tour ensures maximum comfort and convenience for travelers.
Your journey begins as soon as you land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, where you will be greeted by a representative from Destination Nepal Tours & Travels. After a warm welcome and transfer to your hotel, you’ll have time to relax and prepare for the adventure ahead.
The next morning, the tour truly begins with a flight to Chitwan. Known for its wildlife and lush jungles, Chitwan offers a memorable experience for nature lovers. After arriving, you will either embark on an Elephant Safari or a Jeep Safari, depending on your resort location. This is a fantastic opportunity to spot rhinos, deer, crocodiles, and even Bengal tigers if you're lucky. In the evening, you will visit a traditional Tharu Village to get a glimpse of the local way of life, followed by a Tharu cultural program, where you’ll enjoy traditional dances and songs.
The following day, take a morning flight to Pokhara, one of Nepal’s most picturesque cities. Pokhara is famous for its stunning lakes, mountain views, and adventure activities. Upon arrival, you'll visit the city’s top attractions, including boating on Phewa Lake, exploring the Bindabasini Temple, admiring the natural beauty of Davis Fall, and venturing into the mystical Gupteswori Mahadev Cave. Don't forget to visit the Tibetan Refugee Camp and marvel at the deep Seti Gorge. These activities offer a perfect mix of nature, culture, and history, making Pokhara a must-visit destination.
On the fourth day, rise early for a breathtaking sunrise view of the Himalayas from Sarangkot. This vantage point provides stunning views of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) Mountains, a highlight of the entire tour. After breakfast, you’ll catch a flight to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
In Lumbini, you’ll visit the sacred Maya Devi Temple, the exact spot where Buddha was born, and explore the many monasteries and peaceful gardens surrounding it. The spiritual significance of Lumbini draws pilgrims from all over the world. You’ll have time to reflect on this profound experience before taking an evening flight back to Kathmandu.
The final full day of your tour includes visits to some of Kathmandu’s most important UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Begin with a visit to the Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest and holiest stupas in the world, followed by a trip to Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred Hindu temple complex on the banks of the Bagmati River. Lastly, you will explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square, known for its well-preserved ancient architecture, vibrant local culture, and historic palaces.

Chitwan tends to be warmer, reaching up to 40°C during the day. The skies are generally clear, especially in Pokhara, making it perfect for scenic views and sightseeing
Festivals:
Holi (Festival of Colors) is celebrated in March, and it’s a great time to experience the joyful and vibrant atmosphere of Nepal.
Buddha Jayanti, the birthday of Lord Buddha, is celebrated in Lumbini in May. It is an important religious event for Buddhists and provides a special experience for visitors.
Travel Effect: The weather is pleasant, with minimal rain. The clear skies offer great views of the Himalayas from Sarangkot in Pokhara. The warm but not overbearing temperatures in Chitwan make jungle safaris enjoyable. There are no significant travel disruptions during spring, making it an ideal season for this tour.
Summer/Monsoon (June to August)
Weather: The monsoon season brings heavy rains, especially in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan. Temperatures remain warm, between 25°C to 40°C, but humidity levels are high, and the rain can be intense, particularly in the afternoons and evenings. Lumbini, being in the plains, remains hot and humid.
Festivals:
Janai Purnima (Sacred Thread Festival) is celebrated in August, with various religious rituals taking place in Kathmandu.
Gai Jatra (Cow Festival) is also celebrated in August, where Kathmandu Valley comes alive with unique parades and performances.
Travel Effect: Rain can lead to delays in flights or transportation, particularly in the afternoons. The views of the mountains in Pokhara may be obscured by clouds, and safaris in Chitwan can be affected by muddy trails. However, the landscapes are lush and green, providing a unique natural beauty. Visitors should be prepared for occasional travel disruptions, slippery paths, and humidity, especially during excursions.
Autumn (September to November)
Weather: Autumn is another excellent time to visit Nepal. The skies are clear, temperatures are comfortable, and the monsoon rains are gone. Daytime temperatures range from 20°C to 30°C across Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Lumbini, while Chitwan is warmer but less humid than in summer.
Festivals:
Dashain and Tihar are two of the biggest festivals in Nepal, celebrated during October and November. These festivals are marked by grand celebrations, family gatherings, and cultural performances, offering a unique cultural experience.
Travel Effect: Autumn is the peak travel season in Nepal due to its perfect weather conditions. You’ll enjoy spectacular views of the Himalayas in Pokhara and comfortable temperatures for safaris in Chitwan. Festivals like Dashain and Tihar may result in crowded streets and limited business hours in Kathmandu, but it’s also a great time to experience Nepalese culture. Travel disruptions are rare, making this one of the best times to take this tour.
Winter (December to February)
Weather: Winter in Nepal is cooler but still suitable for travel. Temperatures in Kathmandu and Pokhara range from 7°C to 18°C during the day, while Chitwan remains mild with temperatures between 15°C and 25°C. Lumbini, being in the southern plains, is warmer but can still experience cooler nights. The mornings in Sarangkot (Pokhara) can be chilly, especially when viewing the sunrise.
Festivals:
Maghe Sankranti (celebrated in January) is a traditional Nepali festival welcoming longer and warmer days. It’s a good time to experience local traditions in Kathmandu.
Losar, the Tibetan New Year, is celebrated in February, especially around Boudhanath Stupa, offering visitors the chance to witness Tibetan rituals and ceremonies.
Travel Effect: While mornings and nights are cooler, the weather during the day is generally comfortable for sightseeing. Flights and transportation may face occasional delays due to fog, especially for early morning flights. In Pokhara, the sunrise view from Sarangkot can be spectacular, with clear skies and snow-capped peaks, but visitors should dress warmly. Chitwan’s milder weather makes safaris more pleasant in the winter compared to the summer heat.
Best Time to Visit:
The best time to embark on the 6 Days Kathmandu, Chitwan, Pokhara & Lumbini Tour is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These months offer pleasant weather, clear skies, and stunning mountain views, with minimal travel disruptions. However, if you're interested in experiencing Nepal’s festivals or lush landscapes, visiting in the summer (monsoon) or winter is still worthwhile, with some adjustments for the weather.
