The Api Nampa Conservation Area, established on July 12, 2010, is a stunning protected region in the Darchula District of Nepal. It is named after two prominent peaks, Api (7,132 m) and Nampa (6,757 m), and is known for its extreme altitudinal variation and diverse ecosystems. The area spans 1,903 square kilometers, ranging from subtropical climates in the south to snow-covered alpine conditions in the north. The Api Nampa Conservation Area is home to a wealth of flora and fauna, including rare species like the red panda, snow leopard, Himalayan black bear, and Himalayan tahr. Visitors can also spot unique bird species such as the Himalayan Monal, Blood pheasant, and Snowcock.

This conservation area also offers rich cultural experiences, with a variety of ethnic communities living in the region. The area is an emerging tourism destination, attracting visitors with its breathtaking mountain views, diverse wildlife, and vibrant cultural practices. Key attractions include the Yarsagumpa plant, known for its medicinal properties, and Talis Patra used in traditional healing.
