Lumbini Province
Lumbini Province is one of the seven provinces in Nepal. It is located in the southwestern part of the country and covers an area of 22,288 square kilometers. The province was formed in 2015 after the adoption of the new constitution of Nepal and is named after Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha, which is located in the province.
Lumbini Province is bordered by Karnali Province to the north, Sudurpaschim Province to the west, Uttar Pradesh state of India to the south, and Bihar state of India to the east. The province is divided into 12 districts, with Ghorahi, Deukhuri as its capital city. Other major cities in the province include Siddharthanagar, Taulihawa, and Ghorahi.
The economy of Lumbini Province is predominantly agricultural, with rice, maize, wheat, and sugarcane being the major crops grown in the region. The province is also home to several important religious and cultural sites, including Lumbini, which attracts thousands of Buddhist pilgrims every year.
