Spring (March to May)

Highlights: Clear skies and beautiful blooms, especially rhododendrons, making the Nagarkot views of the Himalayas even more stunning.
Ideal for visiting Lumbini, as temperatures are pleasant for exploring the Maya Devi Temple and nearby monasteries.

Weather: Mild temperatures, ranging from 16°C to 30°C in Kathmandu and Nagarkot, making it perfect for outdoor sightseeing. Lumbini can be slightly warmer, around 25°C to 40°C.

Summer/Monsoon (June to August)

Weather: Cold mornings and evenings, with temperatures in Kathmandu and Nagarkot ranging from 2°C to 15°C. Lumbini, however, remains pleasant, between 15°C and 25°C.

Festivals: Maghe Sankranti in January celebrates the Nepali New Year in the Tharu community with feasts and cultural programs. Losar (Tibetan New Year) in February is a vibrant festival celebrated in Buddhist areas, especially near Boudhanath Stupa.

On arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Destination Nepal Tours & Travels Pvt. Ltd. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. Depending on your arrival time, you can explore the city on your own or relax at your hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a 35-minute flight to Bhairahawa. Upon arrival, drive for about 1 hour to the hotel and check in. After check-in, our local guide will meet you at the hotel and take you to explore the birthplace of Lord Buddha, including the Maya Devi Temple and nearby monasteries.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Kathmandu.

Begin a full-day sightseeing tour. Visit Bouddhanath, one of the largest stupas in the world and a major Buddhist pilgrimage site. Explore Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred Hindu pilgrimage site. Continue to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for the 55-Window Palace, Golden Gate, Nyatapole Temple, and stone temples.

Next, drive to Nagarkot. After refreshing, take a self-guided walk around the villages to experience the daily life of Nepalese villagers. Enjoy a sunset view with the eastern Himalayan mountain range, including Mount Everest, weather permitting.

TIPPING

Tips are appreciated by your support team after the trip. Tips are not mandatory in Nepal but recommended. The amount depends on your budget and appreciation of their work. Where restaurant meals are involved, the tipping is usually 10% of the bill. We would like to request all travelers to give tips separately for driver & guide. Our suggestion is US$ 5 per day by per tourist to driver if same driver is there for whole trip & US$ 10 per day to guide.

VISA

All visitors except the Indian nationals must hold passport and valid visa. Visa can be obtained at the Nepalese diplomatic missions and consulates abroad. Visa is also issued at the entry points. It can be extended at the Department of Immigration, Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. Children under 10 years need not pay any visa fee. People willing to get entry Visa at the airport or any of the land entry points are required to fill a visa form with passport photograph. So, please download form from the link below (visa form) and get ready while you are passing through the immigration Point. Only People of these countries do not get visa on arrival at the immigration entry points of Nepal: - Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, and Palestine, Afghanistan. Tourist Visa Extension

* Visa extension fee for 15 days or less is US $ 45 or equivalent convertible currency and visa extension fee for more than 15 days is US$ 3 per day. 5 USD per day as late fine in the case of delay

* Tourist visa can be extended for a maximum period of 150 days in a single visa year (January – December).

Gratis Visa is issued free of cost in case of following categories of Visa applicants:

Children below 10 years (except US citizens)

Up to 30 days for SAARC Citizen (except Afghanistan) visiting Nepal for the first time in a given visa year.  Afghan citizens are eligible for Gratis Visa on Arrival only upon the recommendation of Department of Immigration. If you are an Afghan citizen, you can request concerned institution inviting you to Nepal for necessary paperwork with Department of Immigration to get you Gratis Visa ‘On Arrival’.

PASSPORT AND VISAS:

You must carry a valid passport and have obtained all of the appropriate visas, permits and certificates for the countries in which you will visit during your trip. Your passport must be valid for six months beyond the duration of the trip. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in possession of the correct visas, permits and certificates for your trip; please refer to the Trip Notes for details. We are not responsible if you are refused entry to a country because you lack the correct passport, visa or other travel documentation.

15-29 days before the “Trip Start Day” a fee of 30%
7-14 days before the “Trip Start Day” a fee of 60%
6 or less days until the “Trip Start Day” and in the event of non-appearance a fees of 90%
