The 7 Days Bhutan Tour begins with a warm welcome by Destination Nepal Tours and Travels representatives at Tribhuvan International Airport. After your arrival, enjoy a free day with a briefing and Bhutan visa arrangements in the evening. The following day, take a scenic flight to Paro, offering breathtaking views of Everest, Kanchenjunga, and Bhutan’s peaks like Chomolhari and Jichu Drake. Upon landing, you’ll be escorted to Thimphu with a stop at Tamchoe Monastery and Chuzom. The next morning, visit the Wood Craft and Painting School, Bhutan Post Office, and head to Punakha. En route, stop at Dochula Pass for panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas and its 108 stupas. In Punakha, visit the 17th-century Punakha Dzong and hike to Chime Lhakhang, a divine monastery. Continue to Wangduephodrang before driving back to Paro, with stops at local restaurants and sights like the National Museum, Paro Dzong, and Kichu Lhakhang, a 7th-century monastery.

After breakfast, On time transfer to the airport for flight to Paro, Bhutan. A flight to Paro is one of the most spectacular of all mountain flights. One can see Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu and other peaks in Bhutan such as the Chomolhari, Jichu Drake and Tsrim Gang. The first glance you will see of Bhutan is the Paro valley and small Airport. Our guide will meet you there and escort you to Thimphu, its one hour drive to the capital of Bhutan. On the way stop at the Tamchoe Monastery view and chuzom. Lunch at local Resturant.

After lunch Sightseeing  Memorial Chorten ( a huge stupa ) built in memory of the third king of Bhutan who reigned the Kingdom from 1952-1972, Changangkha monastery built in 12 century, Takin zoo, view point of Thimphu valley, Nunnery monastery. Evening visit the Tashichho Dzong, the main secretariat building. This massive structure houses part of the government Ministries, the office of the King and the Throne Room. It also houses the State Monastic Body and the living quarters of the Chief Abbot and the senior monks.

After breakfast visit the Wood Craft and Painting school where traditional arts and crafts are still kept alive, Post office, and proceed to Punakha about 3 hrs drives through beautiful forests of rhododendron and fields of dwarf bamboo breathtaking scenery of the landscape, green meadows, beautiful wildflowers, gushing waterfalls and constantly changing vegetation. About 45 min from Thimphu, lies Dochula pass (3,100m), offering visitors their first glimpse of the eastern Himalayan range. There you will see spectacular view 108 stupa or chorten at the Dochula pass. From the pass have panoramic view of the eastern Himalayan peaks over 6000m to 7554m snow Cap Mountains. After pass descent down to low lying sub tropical valley, Punakha served as the capital of Bhutan until 1955 and still it is home of Chief Abbot in winter months. Punakha Dzong, built in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal has played prominent role in civil and religious life of the Kingdom. Destroyed four times by fire and an earthquake in 1897, the Dzong has been now fully restored in its original splendour. Lunch at Chime Lhakhang village. After lunch to hike about 1hour round trip to Chime Lhakhang (Drupa Kuenly) Divine monastery it was built in 15 century.   Drive to Punakha and visit Punakha Dzong.

This morning visit Wanduephodrang it was built in 1638 by the Zhabdrung than drive 4hours which is125km to Paro and lunch in the local restaurant in Paro town. After lunch drive to visit the National Museum, Paro Dzong the head quarters of Paro District, visit the first King of Tibet Songtsen Gampo built this Kichu Lhakhang in the 7th century to introduce Buddhism into our country. 

Evening drive one hour to the Capital of Bhutan

Morning drive half an hour parking, than hike up follow an ancient path marked by river powered prayer wheels to the site of the famous Tiger's nest, the Taksang Monastery, t-tragically wrecked in a fire early in 1998, rebuilt, it is perched some 1000m/3,000ft up on a cliff overlooking the valley. It was said to be where the legendary Indian saint, Guru Padma Sambhava, flew from Tibet on the back of a tiger to defeat five demons, who were opposing the spread of Buddhism in Bhutan in 746 A.D.  On the way visit the Drugyel Dzong, located 16 Km. away from the Paro town. Although in ruins, this Dzong is of great historical importance. It was here that the Bhutanese finally defeated the invading Tibetans and drove them back. From here, the peak of Chomolhari "Mountain of the Goddess" can be seen on a clear day (Alt. 7,329m/24,029ft)

TIPPING

Tips are appreciated by your support team after the trip. Tips are not mandatory in Nepal but recommended. The amount depends on your budget and appreciation of their work. Where restaurant meals are involved, the tipping is usually 10% of the bill. We would like to request all travelers to give tips separately for driver & guide. Our suggestion is US$ 5 per day by per tourist to driver if same driver is there for whole trip & US$ 10 per day to guide.

VISA

All visitors except the Indian nationals must hold passport and valid visa. Visa can be obtained at the Nepalese diplomatic missions and consulates abroad. Visa is also issued at the entry points. It can be extended at the Department of Immigration, Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. Children under 10 years need not pay any visa fee. People willing to get entry Visa at the airport or any of the land entry points are required to fill a visa form with passport photograph. So, please download form from the link below (visa form) and get ready while you are passing through the immigration Point. Only People of these countries do not get visa on arrival at the immigration entry points of Nepal: - Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, and Palestine, Afghanistan. Tourist Visa Extension

* Visa extension fee for 15 days or less is US $ 45 or equivalent convertible currency and visa extension fee for more than 15 days is US$ 3 per day. 5 USD per day as late fine in the case of delay

* Tourist visa can be extended for a maximum period of 150 days in a single visa year (January – December).

Gratis Visa is issued free of cost in case of following categories of Visa applicants:

Children below 10 years (except US citizens)

Up to 30 days for SAARC Citizen (except Afghanistan) visiting Nepal for the first time in a given visa year.  Afghan citizens are eligible for Gratis Visa on Arrival only upon the recommendation of Department of Immigration. If you are an Afghan citizen, you can request concerned institution inviting you to Nepal for necessary paperwork with Department of Immigration to get you Gratis Visa ‘On Arrival’.

The following documents are required to proceed with a Bhutan visa:

PASSPORT AND VISAS:

You must carry a valid passport and have obtained all of the appropriate visas, permits and certificates for the countries in which you will visit during your trip. Your passport must be valid for six months beyond the duration of the trip. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in possession of the correct visas, permits and certificates for your trip; please refer to the Trip Notes for details. We are not responsible if you are refused entry to a country because you lack the correct passport, visa or other travel documentation.
