Your adventure begins as Destination Nepal Tours & Travels welcomes you at Tribhuwan International Airport. After a day of preparation in Kathmandu, you’ll drive to Pokhara, a scenic city surrounded by mountains. On the way, you can enjoy an optional rafting adventure in the Trishuli River.

The trekking starts from Nayapul, leading you to Tikhedhunga and then Ghorepani. An early morning hike to Poon Hill rewards you with a stunning sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Continuing through Tadapani, Sinuwa, and Deurali, you’ll reach the magnificent Annapurna Base Camp, surrounded by towering peaks at 4,130 meters.

The return journey passes through Bamboo, Jhinu Danda, Landruk, and Pothana, offering scenic beauty and cultural encounters. You’ll also get to enjoy natural hot springs at Jhinu Danda. The trek concludes with a short hike to Phedi before driving back to Pokhara.

Autumn (September to November)

After breakfast, drive around [210 km-6-7 hrs] to Pokhara, passing through valleys, rivers, terrace fields and some spectacular views of the Himalayan ranges. Today evening free time to explore around Lake Side [around Phewa Lake]

Distance: Approximately 9 kilometers (5.6 miles)

We begin our journey by driving to Nayapul, which takes about 1-2 hours. From Nayapul, we kick off our trek to Tikhedhunga. This trail winds through quaint villages, terraced fields, and verdant forests. Our path also includes a river crossing at Modi Khola River before we finally arrive at Tikhedhunga, where we'll spend the night."

Distance: Approximately 12 kilometers (7.5 miles)

"Starting from Tikhedhunga, you'll encounter two enticing pathways. One leads to the charming village of Ghandruk, while the other guides you towards the scenic destination of Ghorepani. Our chosen route will take us on an invigorating uphill journey to Ghorepani village, nestled at an elevation of 2860 meters.

Our adventure begins with a visit to Ulleri village, a place renowned for its remarkable staircase of 3000 steps. As you ascend, you'll experience a thrilling mix of excitement and fatigue, making the trek truly memorable.

Leaving Ulleri village behind, our path continues uphill, allowing us to revel in the captivating beauty of the surroundings. Our ultimate goal is to reach Ghorepani village, where we'll arrive just as the day transitions into dusk. At that point, we'll conclude our day's journey and rest for the night."

Distance: Approximately 10 kilometers (6.2 miles)

Early in the morning, we set out on our trek to ascend Poon Hill, renowned for its breathtaking sunrise vistas of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Afterward, we make our way down to Tadapani, journeying through enchanting forests filled with rhododendron, oak, and pine trees.

Distance: Approximately 11.5 kilometers (7.14 miles)

Leaving Tadapani behind, our path leads us downhill through a lush rhododendron forest, across the Kimrung Khola, and over a suspension bridge. After about 3 to 4 hours of trekking from Tadapani, we'll arrive at the welcoming Gurung village.

From Gurung village, it's just a 45-minute ascent to Chhomrong village, nestled at an elevation of 2170 meters. Take some time to explore Chhomrong village before embarking on a 2 to 3-hour uphill hike to reach Sinuwa, situated at 2340 meters above sea level. We'll spend the night at a lodge in Sinuwa.

Distance: Approximately 11 kilometers (6.9 miles)

The journey from Sinuwa to Deurali promises to be a challenging trek, spanning approximately 7 to 8 hours, making it one of the longer walks of our adventure. However, the extended route is a visual treat, offering lush green forests, scenic river crossings, and tantalizing glimpses of Mount Annapurna along the way.

Our trail leads us through Bamboo village, aptly named for the dense bamboo forests surrounding it. Continuing from Bamboo Village, we progress to Dovan. Finally, our day's trek will conclude as we reach Deurali, situated at an elevation of 3200 meters.

Distance: Approximately 9 kilometers (5.59 miles)

On the sixth day of our challenging trek, we'll reach the 4130-meter-high Base Camp. Starting early from Deurali, we'll navigate treeless, high-altitude meadows with dry, crisp air.

After a tough hike, we'll reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC) at 3700 meters, offering stunning views, including impressive waterfalls. Marvel at Mount Machhapuchhre, a sacred site believed to be Lord Shiva's dwelling.

After lunch at MBC, we'll trek 4 to 5 hours to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), accompanied by invigorating mountain breezes. Bundle up to stay warm.

At ABC, 4130 meters high, you'll savor panoramic views of towering peaks like Mount Annapurna and Mount Machhapuchhre. Colorful prayer flags add a spiritual touch. We'll rest and recharge for the next day's adventures."

"Early in the morning, prepare to witness the awe-inspiring Himalayan sunrise. The sight of golden sunbeams casting their glow upon snow-clad peaks is truly mesmerizing. Take your time to savor this breathtaking view at ABC before enjoying a hearty breakfast. Afterward, we'll begin our descent from ABC.

Our return journey retraces the same path you took earlier when leaving ABC. The trails are downhill, making the trek back relatively straightforward. Along the way, you'll pass through Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) Base Camp, Deurali, Himalaya, and eventually reach Bamboo."

Distance: Approximately 11.7 kilometers (7.3 miles) 

Following a satisfying breakfast at Bamboo, your next destination is the soothing Jhinu Danda Hot Spring, nestled at an altitude of 1700 meters. The downhill trek is comfortable and uncomplicated, retracing the same scenic trails and villages you encountered earlier in the journey.

As you pass through forests and farmlands, you'll eventually arrive at Jhinu Danda. Here, a natural hot spring awaits, providing a blissful respite after a long and strenuous trek. What's more, you can choose to spend the night at a welcoming teahouse in Jhinu Danda, adding an enjoyable touch to your Annapurna Base Camp Trek experience."

Distance: Approximately 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) 

You can go to the hot spring again this morning if you want and walk down through the valley to cross the bridge. After that a short climb you will get in to Landruk . There are few suspension bridges to cross and many waterfalls on the way. Landruk is big Magar village where you will enjoy walking around to explore.

Distance: Approximately 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) 

After breakfast at the lodge, your day begins through few ups and downs to the bottom of the hill at Bhaisekharka. After that the trail leads steep up to the ridge at Deurali through the forest. Deurali is located on the top of the ridge from where you will enjoy the views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurnas and more. Then the trail drops down to Pathana for overnight.

Distance: Approximately 8 kilometers (5 miles) 

It is the last day of the trek, and easy short to Dhampus village. After Dhampus the trail drops down to Phedi (Bottom of the hill) which is an ending part of the walk. You will reach in Pokhara with the good menory of the trek.

CLIMATE & BEST TIME TO GO

Autumn (mid Sept to mid Dec) and Spring (March to May) are the best seasons for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. The weather is sunny and warm, with outstanding views but the nights are cold and can fall to freezing. Winter (Dec, Jan, Feb) is also good for Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, only colder (obviously). The trekking routes are crowded during spring and autumn but during winter the routes are not packed and you could enjoy rather best of nature. However, please note, there may be snowfall / avalanches during the winter.

RESCUE/EVACUATIONS

In case of a serious sickness or a casualty, which we hope will not happen; you shall be rescued by a helicopter. Since you are entirely liable for all the expenses incurred in evacuation please make sure that it is covered by your insurance before assigning for it or be prepared to pay on your own after getting back in Kathmandu.

INSURANCE

It is recommended of joining any of Destination Nepal Tours & Travels trips that be protected against comprehensive expenses potential to incur due to medical issues or accidents (to include air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and treatment costs). All visitors (except Indian nationals) must have a valid passport and visa to enter Nepal. Visas are available at Nepalese embassies/consulates or entry points. To avoid queues, complete the online visa form within 10 days of your arrival date. Children under 10 are exempt from visa fees. PASSPORT AND VISAS:

You must have a valid passport (valid for at least six months beyond your trip) and all required visas, permits, and certificates for your destinations. Ensure you possess the correct documents as outlined in the Trip Notes. We are not responsible for entry refusal due to missing or incorrect travel documentation.

TIPPING

Tips are appreciated by your support team after the trip. Tips are not mandatory in Nepal but recommended. The amount depends on your budget and appreciation of their work. Where restaurant meals are involved, the tipping is usually 10% of the bill. We would like to request all travelers to give tips separately for driver & guide. Our suggestion is US$ 5 per day by per tourist to driver if same driver is there for whole trip & US$ 10 per day to guide.

BOOKING CONDITIONS

Your booking will be confirmed via email after a 40% deposit of the total trip cost is made through our payment gateway via credit/debit card. The remaining 60% is payable upon arrival in Kathmandu. You may pay the 40% deposit by card or cash, with at least 20% required in cash (USD, AUD, EUR, GBP, CAD, JPY, or SGD).

CANCELATION

If the traveler cancels, the agency charges a cancellation fee based on the following:

  • 20% if canceled up to 30 days before the trip
  • 30% if canceled 15-29 days before the trip
  • 60% if canceled 7-14 days before the trip
  • 90% if canceled 6 or fewer days before the trip or in case of no-show

There is no charge for postponing the trip.
