14 Days Tsum Valley Trek
Overview
The Tsum Valley Trek is a mystical journey into Nepal’s sacred and secluded valley, nestled within the Manaslu region. This trek offers a rare opportunity to explore an untouched Himalayan paradise, rich in Tibetan culture, breathtaking landscapes, and historic Buddhist monasteries.
The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Machha Khola, leading trekkers through lush forests, terraced fields, and picturesque Gurung villages. The trail follows the Budi Gandaki River, passing through suspension bridges and waterfalls. As you ascend, the landscape transforms into an alpine wonderland, revealing stunning views of Ganesh Himal, Himalchuli, and Sringi Himal.
One of the trek’s spiritual highlights is visiting Mu Gompa and Rachen Gompa, ancient Buddhist monasteries perched in serene mountain settings. The Tsum Valley Trek also offers a chance to witness traditional Tibetan customs, explore the hidden villages of Chumling and Chhokang Paro, and soak in the natural hot springs at Tatopani.
A thrilling excursion to Ganesh Himal Base Camp adds an adventurous twist to the journey. The trek is perfect for those seeking cultural immersion, breathtaking scenery, and off-the-beaten-path exploration.
This trek requires a special permit as Tsum Valley is a restricted region, ensuring its preservation as one of Nepal’s last remaining Himalayan sanctuaries. Ideal for experienced trekkers and culture enthusiasts, the Tsum Valley Trek promises an unforgettable Himalayan adventure.

Informations
CLIMATE & BEST TIME TO GO
The best time to trek the Tsum Valley is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). In spring, the trails come alive with blooming rhododendrons, mild temperatures, and clear views of Ganesh Himal and Manaslu. Autumn offers stable weather, crystal-clear skies, and vibrant landscapes, making it the most popular season for the trek.
Winter (December to February) brings colder temperatures, especially at higher altitudes like Mu Gompa (3,700m), with snow covering the trails. While it’s quieter with fewer trekkers, some paths may become challenging due to ice and snow. Monsoon (June to August) is the least favorable time, with heavy rainfall leading to slippery trails, landslides, and obscured mountain views. However, the valley becomes lush and green, offering a different kind of beauty.
For the best trekking experience with clear skies and pleasant weather, plan your Tsum Valley Trek between late March to May or mid-September to early December.
